SNNU 2025-2026 Chinese Government Scholarship Silk Road Program

The Silk Road Program of Chinese Government Scholarship is a full-scholarship program funded by the Ministry of Education of China, which is designed to enroll outstanding international students from countries jointly building the Belt and Road to study in China. The “Training Program for Outstanding Teachers and Education Talents of the Belt and Road” of Shaanxi Normal University (SNNU) has been successfully approved by China Scholarship Council (CSC) as a Silk Road Program. The specific content is as follows:

 

Ⅰ . Introduction to SNNU 

SNNU is directly administered by the Ministry of Education of China, and is one of the first “Double  First-Class” initiative universities.

SNNU, located in the ancient capital city Xi’an, has two campuses, Chang’an and Yanta.

SNNU has established 27 schools/faculties with 27 doctoral degree programs, 60 master degree programs, and 69 undergraduate programs.There arecurrently more than 3,000 full-time teachers and more than 30,000 students.

SNNU has established long-term partnership with more than 200  universities and educational institutions in 40 countries and regions. SNNU has initiated the Silk Road Teacher Education Alliance and other related institutions.

The international students education  of  SNNU  started  from  the year of 1965, and it has enrolled more than 10,000 international students up to now. It also has a test center for the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK).

2. Eligibility

2. 1 In good health both mentally and physically

2.2 Citizens of the following countries: Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Pakistan, Russia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Hungary, Republic of Korea.

2.3 Age and Education Background

For Master Program application: Bachelor ’s degree holders under the age of 35;

For Ph.D Program Application: Master ’s degree holders under the age of 40.

2.4 Language Proficiency

Chinese-taught Programs: HSK Level 4 and above;

English-taught Programs: IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 80 (Applicants whose mother tongue and official language is English may be exempted from submitting a Certificate of English Proficiency).

2.5 Applicants with scientific research achievements or awards will be given priority in admission.

3. Application Procedure

3.1 Online Application

Applications shall be submitted on SNNU Online Application System (https://snnu.17gz.org/) and CSC Online Application System (http://www.campuschina.org/). The  agency number of SNNU is 10718, and applicants should choose type B. Please fill in the application  information  online  and upload the following application materials:

3. 1. 1 A copy of Passport Home Page. If applicants ’ current passports expire before September 2025, applicants shall renew it before submitting the application.

3. 1.2 A notarized highest diploma. Prospective diploma winners shall submit official proof of student status by their current school.

3.1.3 Academic transcripts (from the undergraduate program onwards). Copies of academic records from first to last semester during the undergraduate, master (if any), and doctoral programs (if any) shall be provided. These transcripts shall be issued and sealed by the attending university ’s academic affairs office, graduate school,or student management department. Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.

3. 1.4  Language qualification certificates. Applicants for Chinese-taught programs  shall submit valid reports of HSK Level 4 and above. Applicants for English-taught programs shall provide English language proficiency certificates like IELTS or TOFEL report.

3. 1.5 A study plan proposal written in Chinese or English with more than 1000 characters or words.

3. 1.6 Two recommendation letters (written only in Chinese or English) from professors or associate professors. These letters shall describe the applicant ’s  objectives  of learning  in  China,  comprehensive  abilities, and evaluation of future growth, as well as the cooperation between the supervisors or the exchange between universities of both sides (if any).

3. 1.7 Applicants under the age of 18 shall submit the valid documents of their legal guardians in China.

3. 1.8 A photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed in English. The form is designed by the Chinese quarantine authority  and can be obtained from the dispatching authority. The physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Please select the appropriate time to take a physical examination as the result is valid for only 6 months.

3. 1.9 Non-criminal record report. The applicant shall submit a valid certificate of Non-Criminal Record issued by the local public security authority, usually issued within 6 months prior to the submission date of the application .

3. 1. 10 Published scientific research papers or patents, awards  and other supporting materials that can reflect applicant ’s scientific research ability and comprehensive quality.

3.2 University Review(May 21 - May 26)

SNNU will review application materials, organize interviews and comprehensive assessment for applicants. The arrangement of interview will be announced later.

3.3 Confirm the Pre-admitted Applicants (May 27 - June 2)

The university will confirm the list of candidates to be recommended and issue pre-admission letters. The pre-admitted applicants shall timely submit the pre-admission letters in the CSC system, The university will recommend the candidates to CSC for review .

3.4 CSC Review

The final admission list will be determined after the review of CSC. The university will post the admission result on the website of Study  at  SNNU (http://admission.snnu.edu.cn/) and send admission materials through CSC system to the admitted candidates.


Ⅴ . Precaution

Shaanxi Normal University does not authorize any individual or institution to enroll in scholarship programs. All students shall apply through the only official application system. Chinese Government Scholarship students are not allowed to be enrolled in other scholarships (excluding any one-time incentive award) established by the Chinese government at all levels or universities themselves. Once revealed, the Chinese Government Scholarship will be canceled and the received stipend must be returned. Those who deliberately conceal such situation will not be allowed to apply for Chinese Government Scholarship within three years.
