Based on the notice about “Improving the CSC Scholarship Subsidy System and Raising the Criteria of Subsidy” released by Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Education, CSC scholarship students enjoy free on-campus accommodation or receive off-campus accommodation subsidies.
1. Choices of Living
A. Free on-campus Accommodation
Free on-campus accommodation of CSC full Scholarship student is arranged by school.
a. Doctors and Senior Scholars can be arranged to live in Qixiayuan Hotel twin room for 10 months(from 1st March to 30th July, from 1st September to 30th January, if living beyond the designated time period, you are required to pay by yourself) or in Tiantanxuan/Yihaoyuan single room for 12 months and you will get a certain amount of electricity and water subsidies every year.
b. Masters, General Scholars and Bachelors can only choose to live in Tiantanxuan/Yihaoyuan twin room for 12 months. You will get a certain amount of electricity and water subsidies every year.
B. Collect Accommodation Subsidies
CSC full scholarship students who have to live off-campus because of various reasons are required to submit off-campus accommodation application. If the application is approved by International Students Office(ISO), you can receive accommodation subsidies once a quarter.
2. On-campus accommodation Regulation
a. The new scholarship students are not allowed to live off campus for the first year.
b. The Masters, General Scholars and Undergraduates are not allowed to live in a single room.
c. Free on-campus accommodation can only be arranged to the scholarship students, friends and relatives are not allowed to live together with the scholarship students.
d. Sublease of the beds and rooms is strictly forbidden, the violators will be removed from the Chinese Government Scholarship rolls and will be informed public criticism.
3. Standard: undergraduate, master or general scholar: RMB 700 per month;
PhD or senior scholar: RMB 1000 per month.
4. Application Procedures
a. Complete and submit CSC Full Scholarship Students Accommodation Subsidy Application Form at International Students Office.
b. Inform ISO the new address and submit Temporary Residence Form to ISO.
c. If you sign for the accommodation subsidies before 15th every month, you will receive the money from the bank at the end of current month; if you sign for the accommodation subsidies after 15th every month, you will receive the money from the bank before the end of next month.
d. If the scholarship students who have applied for collecting accommodation subsidies are willing to return on-campus accommodation, you must submit the on-campus accommodation application one month ahead of time. You can be resettled only if the application is approved and there are vacant rooms. If the students who live on-campus would like to change to receive accommodation subsidies, you are required to inform the ISO one month ahead of time and submit the check-out receipt. There is only one chance to change per person.
e. The accommodation subsidies will be issued from 1st September and three months a time.
